audiobook librivox
Is it more efficient to read a book or listen to a LibriVox audiobook?

A lot of people have strong opinions when it comes to paper books, digital books and audiobooks. Which do you think is more efficient? I’m asking this especially with regards to LibriVox recordings, as LibriVox is the most prolific producer of audiobooks online, which are free to download and listen to and are in the public domain. While not anyone can afford to buy professional audiobooks, at least anyone who answers this question will be able to listen to a LibriVox recording before responding. See: http://www.librivox.org/
BTW, Jess, your answer relates to an answer I made to another question so shouldn’t have been stated here. The moral code of all religions is fundamentally the same, though they differ in certain particulars. Hinduism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and other religions also have strict moral codes that do not permit sexuality outside of marriage, which has always been regarded as a union between a man and woman.

Efficient in what way? For speed, reading printed text is far faster than spoken word.

For comprehension, it depends on the individual reading or hearing the text, and on the skill of the person reading the text aloud for librivox. Some people comprehend better on hearing than reading, and others don’t.

For portability, a paper book is still champ, although digital readers are trying to beat that.
